Terms and Conditions

Please read through the following important information about the festival. This information is only applicable to Twinwood Festival - other events at Twinwood arena have different T&Cs.

Tickets

Tickets with their stubs intact must be presented at the gate to gain entry into the festival.

If you book tickets for the festival earlier than March: tickets are posted out after March. Please put a note in your diary to expect to receive them in March. If you have not received them by the end of March, contact us immediately.

If you book tickets for the festival after March: allow 7 days for delivery of your tickets if booked by telephone or online, and allow 14 days for delivery if booked by cheque.

When you receive your tickets, check they are correct, put them in a safe place, and remember where they are! Tickets wont be replaced if lost. If you are camping, you will also receive a campsite pass, which should be displayed on your vehicle's windscreen whilst on site.

If you book tickets less than 14 days prior to the festival start date: after ordering your tickets online, you will initially receive an automated email confirming your payment, and then you will receive a personal email containing your order details, ticket collection number, and information about how to collect your tickets upon arrival at the festival. This personal email may arrive anytime up to 6 hours after your order, and you will need these details to gain entry into the festival.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MONEY PAID TO TWINWOOD EVENTS LTD FOR TICKETS ORDERED IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

TICKETS CANNOT BE RETURNED FOR REFUND.

Tickets Required for Camping

Every individual person in the Twinwood campsites must be in possession of a full "3-day Ticket". Single-day ticket holders (e.g. Saturday only, or Sunday only) are not permitted to camp in the campsites, or to stay overnight with friends in the campsite.

In addition to the "3-day Tickets", a Campsite Pitch reservation must also be purchased. A campsite pitch reservation is booked per-pitch, not per-person. For example, two people staying on the same pitch would need to buy two "3-day Tickets", but just one "Campsite Pitch".

Wristbands

Your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband on arrival at the festival, which is what allows you to have easy and secure access around the site. The wristband is NON TRANSFERABLE. The wristband must be worn at all times during the duration of your stay. Wristbands become invalid if they are damaged, cut, or removed. Wristbands will not be replaced if lost or damaged.

Entry Times

Camping ticket holders and traders can arrive on the Thursday from 12 noon until 8.30pm, and on Friday from 10am to 8.30pm. On Saturday, campers can arrive at 10am. The campsites will close at midday on Tuesday.

Day ticket holders gates will open from 10.30am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Those arriving after dusk will not be allowed entry to the site as we cannot ticket check and park people up in the night. The gates will be closed at 9pm on Thursday and Friday nights to caravans and campervans and cars wishing to camp.

If your journey means you will arrive in the middle of the night then please plan an overnight stop elsewhere during your journey so that you can arrive at Twinwood in daylight.

The Festival Brochure

This is the free brochure that is posted out with your tickets. Twinwood Festival is a large site, with multiple stages. To make the most of your visit, it is recommended that you read your brochure thoroughly so that you can plan the entertainment that you wish to see during the festival, and so that you know where the security, information and first aid points are. The festival brochure will be posted out to everybody on our mailing list after March.

Dogs

Dogs must NOT be brought into the site by day visitors. Camping visitors may bring well behaved pet dogs into the campsites only. Dogs are not permitted onto any other area of the showground other than the Twinwood campsites. Public footpaths are nearby for exercising dogs. All owners must bring equipment to immediately clean up after their dogs, and it is important to not allow male dogs near to tents or other people's property, to avoid any risk of spraying. Owners of dogs which cause a nuisance may be asked to leave the site. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

Gazebos and Large Umbrellas

Gazebos and large umbrellas may NOT be taken into the arena as they can cause considerable distress to other people who are sitting behind them. Also in windy conditions gazebos and large umbrellas quickly become dangerous.

Furniture

A limited amount of seating is provided in front of both stages and near catering outlets. It is a good idea to bring lightweight folding picnic chairs or blankets to sit on. Please note that tables are NOT allowed to be taken into the arena for safety reasons. (Tables for use inside the private arena boxes are OK).

Left Luggage

Folding picnic chairs and bulky items can be left at our Left Luggage facility, centrally located and well sign posted in the woodland walk area, near the Colonial Club. This facility is run by Macmillan Charity volunteers, and the small charge for using this facility goes directly into the charity.

Lost Property

Our lost property facility is situated in the Left Luggage building, centrally located in the woodland walk area opposite the Colonial Club. Twinwood Events Ltd will not accept liability for personal damages, losses or injuries sustained at the event - including damage and losses to property and motor vehicles.

Food and Drink

There is a large selection of high quality caterers, serving all types of hot and cold foods. The bars are stocked with a large range of beer, lager, cider, wine, spirits, and soft drinks, at pub prices. Tea and coffee can be found at many locations around the site.

Picnics are welcome in the campsites and on the main arena, but it is prohibited to take food and drinks which have not been purchased from the Twinwood Festival bars or from the festival caterers into any other venues, including the arena bar/decking area.

Our cleaners will ensure the site is continually kept clean and clear of rubbish. HOWEVER, we would appreciate it if you would take home your empty packaging, cans, bottles etc. from food or drinks which have not been purchased onsite. The astronomically huge increases in the cost of commercial refuse disposal and recycling is concerning, and in order to continue to provide you with the highest quality entertainment and highest quality facilities at the lowest possible ticket prices, we need your help in this matter. Thank you!

Barbeques

For campers only: cooking using small barbeques is permitted by caravanners and campers in the campsites only. Persons intending to cook, or who have a BBQ must have either a fire extinguisher or bucket of water or sand close to the BBQ whilst in use. BBQs must not be left unattended until the appliance is completely cold. Fires must be contained in a purpose made BBQ that is raised off the ground, to avoid damaging our grass, and must be operated in a safe and responsible manner, and kept at a safe distance away from tents. Fires on the ground are not permitted. Cooking/heating food/drinks is not permitted on the arena or by those who are not caravanning/camping onsite. All caravans should contain a fire extinguisher.

No cooking, barbecuing or boiling water appliances are allowed in the arena or any other part of the showground except in the campsite, by persons camping and caravanning.

Camping Pitch Size

The size of our pitches are suitable for all standard caravans + car, motorhomes, tents + car, and small awnings are allowed to be erected.

One vehicle only is permitted on each camping pitch. If sharing a tent/caravan etc. with friends, please make arrangements to arrive together in the same vehicle. Those arriving in separate cars will be required to park in the car parks. Extra cars are not permitted into the campsites to "drop off" items.

Twinwood Campsite Facilities

Twinwood campsites are situated in an elevated position and have wonderful scenic views across Bedfordshire.

There are permanent flush toilet blocks, and a number of mobile toilet cubicles. There are mobile shower units, chemical waste disposal points, rubbish disposal points, fresh water points, and the campsites have lighting in. There are hair drying facilities in the campsite. There is a shop in the campsite selling groceries, toiletries, newspapers and cigarettes etc. Water for the festival is from Twinwood's own supply, so please bear this in mind and keep showers short and ensure water points are not left running. There are no electric hook up points.

Please bring your own bin liners and use the campsite rubbish disposal points. The festival cleaners will ensure the site is always clear of rubbish, HOWEVER due to the huge increase in the cost of refuse disposal and recycling, we ask all campers to take home as much of your own rubbish as possible, and this will help us keep our campsite charges down at a sensible level.

Please DO NOT DISPOSE OF OIL in any of the tanks or bins provided for waste disposal. You must take waste oil home with you.

Generators

We recommend that you bring a fully charged leisure battery for use. However, if you do use a generator, please bear in mind that some campers find the noise of generators distressing. Any generator that is used may only be operated for short periods of time, not exceeding 30 minutes, and generators must not be used before 10.30am or after 9pm. We will continue to review this situation and we hope that by responsible and limited use, for short periods only, we will not have to make further restrictions or ban them in future. Please note that this rule does not apply to the Twinwood Events Generators used to power the lighting towers, which are an essential Health and Safety Requirement.

Disabled Vistors

We have disabled mobile toilets close to the arena, and two disabled car parks. One is for non-wheelchair users, and is serviced by our shuttle bus, and will take visitors straight to the main arena entrance. The other is for wheelchair users who cannot use the bus, and is nearer to the arena. We have ramps onto the arena decking area, and ramps into the bars. For disabled camping visitors, if you have a disabled badge, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

You must request disabled camping at the time of booking, and the pitches closest to the facilities are strictly first come, first served and are limited in number. Please note that Twinwood Festival is an outdoor music festival - the surfaces of the arena car parks and campsites are grass, and the pathways and areas near the museums are original tracks from WWII. The distance to the disabled campsite to the main arena is approx 50m. The main arena stage to the Control Tower stage is approx 300m (see site plan in brochure). The pathways are often quite stony, and some wheelchair users or people who are unsteady on their feet may need assistance.

Some people bring mobility scooters. We have been advised by our health and safety, and our own insurance company, that any person driving one of these who causes an accident to someone else is personally liable. It is advisable for any mobility scooter user to have third party public liability insurance for their vehicle, and any person who is not insured should not bring these vehicles to Twinwood.

Stewards

If you experience any difficulties or have any problems at all whilst on the site, please first report to the security stewards - wearing the high visibility jackets - who are in attendance at the festival for the whole duration, day and night.

First Aid

A First Aid and paramedic team are on site during the festival.

Dress Code

Dress code is relaxed - wear what you are comfortable in! Many of our visitors dress in vintage 1920s to 1950s clothing and uniforms, so you will not feel out of place if you decide to dress up. Many areas are grass, and the pathways are stony, so it's a good idea to bring a pair of comfortable shoes with thick grip, non-slip soles, so that slips and falls can be avoided. As we cannot predict the weather, please bring sun protection and suitable clothing and footwear for all weather eventualities. The evening performances end quite late, and a warm jacket will be useful at the end of the evening. A big attraction of this festival is the fact that many make the effort to dress in period costume and World War II uniforms, but we would ask visitors not to display Axis insignia or medals that may cause offence.

Dance Floors

There are wooden dance floors in front of the main stages, indoors and outdoors. The outdoor dance floors will be slippery in wet weather. Twinwood Events cannot accept responsibility for any accidents which occur on dance floors at any stage or venue, under any weather conditions.

Photography & Filming

Cameras for personal use are welcome. No professional filming or photography is allowed. Twinwood Events official site photographers may take photographs of the crowd for use in future promotional literature, and tickets are purchased on this understanding.

Scheduled Bands & Performers

Bands and other artists/performers are contracted, and Twinwood Events Ltd accepts no responsibility if an act fails to attend, or at the time scheduled.

Trading

The selling of goods, distribution of leaflets and advertising, etc. is strictly forbidden and can only be carried out by those official traders who have paid their pitch fee, and have the permission of Twinwood Events Ltd.

Policy Towards Illegal Drugs

Twinwood Events Ltd does not allow illegal drugs or substances onto the festival grounds. Clear signage at the arena entrance details prohibited items, and any persons suspected of being in possession of illegal drugs/substances will be asked to leave the site and the police may be called.

All that remains to say, is that we look forward to seeing you at Twinwood Festival. If you have any questions, please contact us, as we are happy to help. See you there!
